[ She stays leaning against the doorway for now, evaluating the situation as she can. It is looking a bit mad scientist-y, and he's looking a bit drunk, definitely. After a moment she stirs herself up and heads slowly towards him, eyebrows raised. ]

Must have gotten something out of it, then. No thanks, I'm good. No drinking necessary here.

Yeah, a severe need to imbibe. [ Taste testing. Hmm, needs a little more of the bottle in his hand. No, wait, he sets that one down, picks up a different one, tries that one instead. A little better. ] Are you sure? These are pretty tasty once I get the recipe down again.

Too much paperwork, or? [ Perching on the arm of his chair as she watches him, face mostly neutral but something fond and amused in her eyes. ] I'm sure, promise.

[ Taste test number nth. He's pleased. He sets the bottles back down and picks up the glass instead, deciding to just sort of sit where he is and lean back against the edge of the loveseat type thing he's next to. He hardly even spills any of his drink. ] Missing out. What'd you do today? M'sure it's more interesting. [ And he's not even entirely slurring too, it's a total momentary win for him on both counts, sipping at the drink again as he waits for an answer. ]

[ She runs her hand through his hair for a moment and then flops backwards over the armrest to lie across the seat, legs hooked over the armrest still. ] Yes, because I do so many interesting things. [ Nudging him with her elbow. ] I mostly just worked on taking things apart. You know how it goes.

[ Oh, that's nice, he turns into that, because he likes that quite a lot, but she stops and he drinks a little more of his concoction and then rests his head back against whatever part of her is behind his head when she's finished moving. ] Taking things apart. S'fun. I like doing that. Today.... I put things together. Verbally. Exhausting. But not too bad. [ Hey wait. ] You do a lot of interrrsting things. [ Head sort of nudging into her in emphasis. ] Lots of interesting 'ings.

[ His head is resting against the side of her stomach, and now that she's settled she rests her hand back in his hair, cards through it slowly and surely. ] You do a pretty good job of that too. Putting things together. [ And smiling at him even if he can't really see it, indulgent and warm. ] Yeah? I guess I do.

[ Yes he's back to leaning into that, pleased with the reception. ] I'm amazing at putting things together. Most things. Not usually words when I need them, although I'm very good at insulting people. That's more or less a personal skill at this point.

[ Oh, good, she'll just keep up with it then. ] I think you're good at putting words together.

[ He'll just sort of let his head keep resting on her stomach, close his eyes and appreciate it while it lasts. ] I can string them together cohesively, sure. Coherently. I can sound like I know what I'm talking about, because I usually do.

I think you manage to put words together into very good sentences. [ Amused, and she leans over to kiss his temple before keeping on with her hand in his hair. ] Doesn't sound like it was a very good day though.

[ He lets his head fall to one side a little so that she doesn't have to stop but that he can look at her for a moment before closing his eyes. He looks pretty content right now. ] Nope. But. It's slowly getting better.

[ It's a good look on him, contentedness, and right now she's perfectly content in turn to just sit here and watch him relax under her hand. It's a warm sort of feeling, calm and easy. ] Good. Tomorrow I can yell at people for you if you want. I'm very good at it.

You'd do that for me? That's sweet. [ Happy sigh. ] You are though. You're really good at it. Not that you've ... [ Blink. Totally opening his eyes for a second to blink specifically and then closing them again. ] Ever, yelled at me. I've heard you yell at things though. Infrequently.

Of course I'd do that for you. [ She's watching him when he opens his eyes, this ridiculous fond smile on her face soft and small and she doesn't even try to make it vanish. ] When I actually get around to it I am absolutely very impressive at yelling.

[ He's drunk enough for that unabashed fondness to not bother him. Doesn't raise any flags at all, just looks like she's happy too and that's always a good thing. ] You're very impressive at most things. It's part of the reason I keep you around. Among others. There's lots of reasons and I make most of them up but that doesn't mean they're not true too.

[ Oh good because it's not going away. She's not really sure she could make it go away if she tried, so she's choosing not to try. At that last bit she tips her head back to lean on the armrest again, laughing. ] How can something be true if you're just making it up?

[ He might actually sort of turn so that his cheek is on your stomach, more or less facing her and the couch and continuing to just lie there. Happily. ] You can make up the truth, totally. Just because you're making it up as you go along doesn't mean it isn't what actually happened.

[ For a moment her hand stills on his face, caught in the gesture of brushing back his hair, and then she returns to her running of her fingers through his hair, her other hand dropping to his shoulder. She still looks pretty happy herself, so that makes two of them. ] Yeah? Like what?

You know. I mean, like. [ The vaguest of gesticulations that don't actually accompany anything he's saying because they don't happen at the right time. And they're vague. ] Like when you have a, a moment, and then afterwards you convince yourself something else about it. It might not have been like the way you remember it but it doesn't mean it wasn't like that anyway and you just didn't - [ Another hand wavey thing. ] - process it at the time. And either way, if it's how you remember it. [ Shrug. ]

And then shit like just working stuff out as you go. You know. Spontaneity. Stuff.

[ He's just being really adorable right now, honestly, and she's just watching him with a smile and trying to turn what he's saying into something a little more coherent in her head. She's not entirely sure if it's working. ] It feels a little like you're arguing for that thing where however you view the world is a valid way to view it even if it doesn't go with the reality of what happened.

[ Beat. ] Or you're just pretty drunk.

Well, no, because that sounds sort of dumb, and whatever I just said was totally reasonable. Not everything's subjective, because some people are just stupid and subject the rest of us to their ives and it's irritating. [ Sigh. Or just a deep breath, who knows. ] I am pretty drunk though. Like, really pretty. As drunk as I am pretty. Which is very.

People can get pretty stupid, yeah. I'm not sure what you said was entirely reasonable, but we can go with that. I'm sure it was reasonable in context. [ In the context of his drunken state. She totally is a drunk Tony whisperer. ] Mmhmm. You are very pretty, and you are very drunk. It's okay, though. You had a long day. Do you need some water?

Why would I want any water? Actually I kind of want another drink. They're up there aren't they? [ Pointing to the thing he's slumping near. Ish. He's pointing in the right direction, I just can think of where he is in relation to it anymore. ] Do you want one? I could totally make you one? We could both be drunk and pretty. It's really nice as long as you keep doing that. [ Gesture, to the way she's running her hand through his hair. ]

They are up there. I'm not sure you need another one, but if you really feel like you do. [ Just keeping up with running her fingers through his hair, because it's actually almost as soothing to her as it is to him and it's also really fun to watch his reaction to it. ] I'm fine, but thank you. Someone's going to have to get up if you want another drink, though.
